GFWC North Pinellas Woman’s Club Awards $16,000 in Local Community Grants

 June 21, 2022 – Clearwater, Florida GFWC (General Federation of Women’s Clubs) North Pinellas Woman’s Club has awarded $16,000 in grants to local 501c3 organizations.

 2022 Community Grant Winners

  • Harbor Dish – $2000 for kitchen equipment needed to prepared meals for food insecure population
  • Lotz of Blessings – $2000 for weekend food placed in backpacks of food insecure students
  • Dementia Caregiver Resources – $1000 for educational resources for dementia caregivers
  • Florida’s Sheriff’s Ranch – $1000 to help with the cost of replacing a storage room door
  • Inspire Equine Assisted Center – $1000 for supplies used in veteran’s horse therapy program
  • Keep Pinellas Beautiful – $1000 for supply kits for school programs about plastic pollution
  • Pineapple Projects – $1000 for home furnishings for previously homeless population
  • Quilter’s Crossing – $1000 for quilt supplies used to create patriotic themed quilts for veterans
  • Ready for Life – $1000 for Sign Up Genius used by program for those aging out of foster care
  • Toy Makers – $1000 for supplies used by seniors to make wooden toys for children’s programs

 2022 Member Grants

  • Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services – $500 for Refugee Resettlement & Placement Fund
  • Hope Children’s Home – $500 for foster home expenses
  • Mattie Williams Neighborhood Family Center – $500 for backpacks
  • Palm Harbor Historical Society – $500 for storage software
  • Random Acts of Flowers – $500 for cart & table
  • Raptor Center of Tampa Bay – $500 for bird rescue
  • Refugee & Migrant Women’s Initiative – $500 for interpreters
  • Tampa Bay Advocates Against Human Trafficking – $500 for necessities

 The club is able to provide these grants as a result of the success of their annual Christmas Under the Oaks Arts & Craft Festival, held for forty-four years in November in Clearwater. This year’s event will be held November 13, 2022 at St. Petersburg College Clearwater Campus.

Since the club’s founding in 2003, GFWC North Pinellas Woman’s Club has provided assistance to community nonprofit organizations and projects through volunteerism and philanthropy.  Last year club members volunteered over 22,000 hours, and over $97,000 in community grants, scholarships, cash, and in-kind donations.
