Breast Cancer Pillow Project
3,000 pillows and counting!
Started in 2005 after several clubwomen had been treated for breast cancer, GFWC North Pinellas Woman’s Club feels strongly about this project. The comfort pillows and pillowcases are used under the arm or between the seatbelt and breast to help alleviate discomfort during treatment.
All of our members are involved in some aspect of this project – sewing, stuffing, and delivery. Pillows get distributed to hospitals, cancer support groups, doctors, the American Cancer Society, and other individuals to hopefully make their time in treatment a little easier.
